Love in The Balance by Regina Jennings
MY REVIEW
I recently read For the Record and it was the first of Regina Jennings‘ books. Well, I was hooked. So I went back to the first Ladies of Caldwell County to read more. Love in the Balance is book #2 of the series. If you read the first book, Sixty Acres and a Bride, you will have met Rosa’s friend, Molly.
In Love in the Balance, it was a joy to learn more about Molly and to begin to understand her. Bailey of course is in love with her, but he wants to do what is right, and wants to make his fortune before he proposes marriage. In the meantime, he feels his strong feelings for her will cause him to stumble.
Love in the Balance had some surprises and at times I was certain there wasn’t going to be a “happily ever after” for dear Molly. Her journey to make peace with her parents, her role in life and Bailey is not an easy one.
By the time these two sort out their feelings, they have been through many trials, adventures and secrets together. Bailey quickly became one of my favorite hero’s (aside from Deputy Puckett of course, and Weston…)
I really enjoyed getting to know the characters better, not only Molly and Bailey, but the sub characters too. Her parents were challenging to say the least, but I love how Bailey stood up for Molly.
This book had a few unexpected surprises in it and I like that, I like when the plot is unpredictable.
