Lights Out by Natalie Walters
Lights Out is the first book in the SNAP Agency Series. Here is my review: MY REVIEW Lights Out is the first book in the series and we get to know Brynn Taylor and Jack Hudson. Both with history. For readers who like to actually breathe between chapters, this romantic suspense is engaging while keeping your heart rate at a steady pace. Dealing with National security and presidential safety all the puzzle pieces slowly fall into place to give an engaging story while we get to know this cast of characters. I really hope we get to read Kekoa’s story next. If you read this book, you’ll see why.…

Marriage, Melodies and Rewritten Conclusions
Seriously, I have been a fan of V. Joy Palmer’s work from the time I read her first book in this delightful trilogy, so I was delighted to review this one. I mean look at that gorgeous cover! Don’t let the pretty covers fool you! These books are gold, so full of depth and meaning as well as pop culture references and humor. I finished this delightful book last night and closed it with a happy sigh. MY REVIEW First, let me say that Palmer’s voice is one of the most delightful and refreshing voices to emerge in the publishing industry. Her characters are well-rounded, loveable (well except the…

Full Circle Moment 2020
On September 28th, 2020, my husband and I celebrated 21 years since we left the country of our birth, South Africa, to start a new life in Canada. We landed in Toronto, Ontario, and began all the things immigrants have to do, like learning to drive on the other side of the road. Memories I remember taking photographs of the first snow flurry and of the squirrels in the yard, like a real noobie. Those were the days when shoveling snow was fun. Now, not so much. We got to carve our first ever pumpkin. Yes, we were like kids. Back then, everything was new and unfamiliar. I wrote a…

10 Things I’ve Learned About Writing with Humor
We can all agree that we can do without more stress and struggles in our lives. Ain’t nobody got time for more sorrow, more angst, and more horror. I think life has enough of that, I mean, just open up a news tab and you can get your fill. Humor is a survival technique we all need to embrace. I write with a dab of humor. (Okay maybe more than a dab.) After all, if we can’t laugh at ourselves, then where is the joy in that? As a reader, I want to escape into a book and have an adventure. I want to feel like The Hobbit leaving the…

Hadley Beckett’s Next Dish by Bethany Turner
You guys! This is hands down my favorite Bethany Turner book. Here’s why: MY REVIEW If it wasn’t for the fact that I had to actually sleep at night, I would have read this gem in one sitting, literally. And bathroom breaks were had at the speed of light so I could get back to reading. Tea was made with the book in one hand. You get the picture. Hadley Beckett’s Next Dish is now officially my favorite book from Bethany Turner. Her character arc of Maxwell Cavanagh is so convincing that in the first chapters of the book I was convinced he couldn’t possibly be the hero of…

The Water Keeper by Charles Martin
Oh My goodness! WHAT JUST HAPPENED? I finished The Water Keeper by Charles Martin today and I’m blown away. I would have finished it last night if it wasn’t for the fact that at midnight my hubby suggested I stop reading in bed so he could sleep, so I reluctantly deferred reading the last 10% of the book until this morning! Not sure if I can put it all into any sort of coherent words, but I’ll try. Here’s my Review: MY REVIEW The Water Keeper is a masterpiece. There are strong themes of Water and Word in this book and it all reflects the power of love. This is…
