Book Review

Bridge of Faith by Catherine West

Inspy Award-winning author Catherine West has written a novel that will have you laughing and crying.  I don’t generally read the back of the book because to me, it is like a movie trailer, and I don’t watch those either. I like to discover the story as I go along, whether it be on film or on the page! Well, was I wowed by this one? Yes, yes, yes. I could not be more delighted to have discovered author Catherine West and can’t wait for her upcoming book, The Things We Knew.

Bridge of Faith is one of those books that drew me right in, and did not let go until the last page. You know you have been touched by a book when you find yourself thinking about the characters weeks after you wiped the tears from your eyes and blew your nose from all the …well you get the picture. I could not put this book down and had to know what was going to happen next. What was Julia going to go? How would Reid react? I fell in love with Cade…(who also happens to be Julia’s brother)…not literally of course. In short, I almost added all of them to my prayer list! That’s how real the world of Bridgewater in Vermont was as I read.

Disclaimer: You will need Kleenex (Happy and sad bits!)

Two lives taken down different roads – one enduring love – one shot at starting over. If only they believed in second chances.

News correspondent, Reid Wallace is back on US soil after almost getting himself and his best friend, Cade blown up on assignment in the Middle East. He heads home to find some peace and pick up the pieces.

Julia Hansen escapes from Atlanta with her life and her two children, after her own trauma. She heads back to Vermont to heal and bring up her children in a safer environment, but it is really safer? She is back home with her parents. She may be safer physically, but will she risk letting down the walls she has built up over the years in order to survive? Will Reid guess the truth?

When the truth comes out, will they walk away, or can they believe in second chances?

Bridge of Faith is a 2015 Grace Awards Finalist
