Flights of Fancy by Jen Turano

There hasn’t ever been a Jen Turano book that I didn’t absolutely love. This one, Flights of Fancy, had me giggling and I may or may not have snort-laughed a few times too.

Jen Turano brings a unique perspective in her books and has a talent for humour. If you need a pick-me-up read, Jen Turano is your go-to-author.

Flights Of Fancy is the perfect title by the way and you’ll agree with me when you read it. Miss Isadora Delafield is a delightful character whose personal journey of growth in this book is quite inspiring. Made me think a bit about life in a different light. Ian MacKenzie is, well, let’s just say he is all he needs to be. The mysterious events and the horrible duke bring MacKenzie and Isadora together in a way that will keep you turning the page, giggling and swooning at a fast clip.

If you want adventure, banter and a good old fashioned entertaining read, then, Flights of Fancy is your book. This is the first of the American Heiress series and I can hardly stand to have to wait for the next one.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher, Bethany House. My opinion is my own.

“Historical details provide a rich environment for Izzie’s humorous household exploits, and the matchmaking attempts by the children and aunt add another layer to Turano’s delightful romance, the kickoff for her American Heiresses series.”–Booklist

“Turano’s ability to tell a great story infused with humor and light-hearted banter shows through on each page.”–RT Book Reviews on Behind the Scenes

Miss Isadora Delafield may be an heiress, but her life is far from carefree. When her mother begins pressuring her to marry an elderly and uncouth duke, she escapes from the high-society world she’s always known and finds herself an unlikely candidate for a housekeeper position in rural Pennsylvania.

Mr. Ian MacKenzie is known for his savvy business sense and has built his reputation and fortune completely through traditional hard work. But when his adopted parents are in need of a new housekeeper and Isadora is thrown into his path, he’s unexpectedly charmed by her unconventional manner.

Neither Isadora nor Ian expected to find the other so intriguing, but when a chain of mysterious incidents on the farm point to a larger threat, they’ll have to set aside everything they thought they wanted for a chance at happy-ever-after.

I love this book! (I love all of Jen Turano’s books)
A lot of laughing went on here too. I was listening to the audible version in bed the other night when I couldn’t sleep, hubby told me to go to the other room if I was going to keep laughing out loud.
