A TWIST OF FAITH

Will a wager against her future steal her chance for true love?

A Twist of Faith is a “Mitchell’s Crossroads” book, published by Firefly Southern Fiction. “What was all the fuss about?” I wondered this after hearing so much about this book, and naturally, I just HAD to read it. I wondered if it would live up to my great expectations and well, it did, and more!

I just loved this book.

Set in the heart of Appalachia, I had also heard that the hero was quite something, and it turned out to be true. Adelina Roseland, PhD (or Dee, as her family call her) is out of her depth, but she is not about to let anyone find out about it, particularly not her boss. While working as an accent reduction specialist, her supervisor and the professor in charge of her progress, Dr. Alex Murdock, challenges her to work her magic on Reese Mitchell.  She must succeed in order to fulfill her dream to become a full professor at UVA Charlottesville. Reece must learn to lose his country drawl if he is to land the job he needs to save the family farm.

 “Ain’t is not a word”

— Dr. Adelina Roseland

I don’t know who changes who the most, but Reece softens Adelina’s hard edges and Reece cleans up for his job interview pretty good and we even ‘see’ him in a tux.

“We’re gonna need to hone those country-girl skills of yours Doc. You’re a bit out of practice….”

—Reece Mitchell

You will quickly fall for Mr. Reece Mitchell and watch as Adelina does her best not to. Adelina must deal with her childhood hurts and Mr. Mitchell must learn to trust again. His last relationship did not go so well. Then you add in some adorable children, a dog, and even a new born calf, and sparks between Dee and Reece flying, and you have quite a story to remember. This is a sweet romance that will have you laughing and crying along with the characters.
