Book Review

Daughter of Highland Hall

This book is the second in the Edwardian Brides series and it was as delightful as the first book The Governess of Highland Hall by Carrie Turansky.

What I loved about this book is that all the dear characters that we got to know in book one continue their story in book two without taking the spotlight away from our dear Kate, who is the focus of this second book.

Kate comes to London as a hopeful debutante to be presented to the King and Queen and make her entrance into London society. From the first, it does not go quite as she planned and by the end of the season she has come to know just what she wants, or rather needs in a husband. It is not what she thought at first.

You will enjoy journeying through the season with its ups and downs, scandals and social graces with Kate and her family. And believe me, scandals there are plenty and Kate learns what is most important in life. By the end of the book she has her husband, but it is not who she thought it was going to be. What a lovely ending and a story of growing faith and compassion.

Thanks to the author and to WaterBrook Multnomah for the complimentary copy I received in exchange for an honest review. What a pleasure to read such a well-written book
