Laura McNeill’s Sister Dear is published by Thomas Nelson & Zondervan Fiction. Laura ‘s debut Center of Gravity is one I also want to read, I have heard much about it.

Sister Dear, is the story of the Marchall sisters, their secrets and lies and Allie’s quest for truth.

The scenes unfold , beginning with Allie’s release from Arrendale prison, after serving time for a crime she says she did not commit. She wants her life back and her daughter back, and she wants to reveal the truth.

The tug-of-war between Allie and Emma over Caroline (Allie’s daughter) begins and is a major part of this story.

The story is told from Allie, Emma and Caroline’s point of view and it is really interesting to see it all unravel through Caroline’s eyes, through a teenager’s worldview.

I admit that at first the snippets of scenes from the past and present were hard to follow, but once I got into it and got to know the characters, it was a matter of needing to read faster to find out what was going to happen next. There are some surprises at the end which I did not anticipate. (Love it when that happens)

It is a good murder mystery, and it is interesting to see how the writer peels away Emma’s character layers to expose who she really is.

There really is a fine line between love and hate.
