Love’s Faithful Promise by Susan Anne Mason

Susan Anne Mason lives in a suburb near Toronto, Ontario, Canada, where she works part-time as a church secretary. She is a wife and the mother of two amazing kids, and is a member of American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) and Romance Writers of America (RWA). In addition to writing, she likes to scrapbook and to research her family history on-line.

 MY REVIEW

I loved this book so much! I found myself not being able to put it down, which called for some serious multitasking.

Yes, it is in fact true. I could not put the book down so I was reading while making banana chocolate chip pancakes.

Susan Anne Mason wrapped up the Courage To Dream series in such a way that will satisfy and delight readers. Love’s Faithful promise is the perfect end to this trilogy. As much as I wanted to read Dierdre O’Leary’s story as fast as I could, I was keenly aware that at the end of the book I would be saying goodbye to these beloved characters. Oh! So bittersweet, but definitely more sweet than bitter in this case. Connor O’Leary gets to participate in the goings on at Irish Meadows and I really loved that sweet side story. Just wait until you get to the part when Mr. O’Leary finds…..Oh wait…no spoilers! I was giggling out loud, just so you know!

Widower Dr. Matthew Clayborne is a troubled and damaged soul, who is called upon to help Mrs. O’Leary’s recovery from a stroke. He finds himself at Irish Meadows and as you can imagine, he will not leave it the same man as when he arrived with his sickly young daughter, Phoebe. Deirdre definitely has something to do with that, and no I don’t want to give too much away, but let me just say that Susan Anne Mason masterfully weaves Deirdre and Connor’s stories together and wraps up the entire O’Leary family history and legacy in a moving final scene that will have you sighing with satisfaction, if not wiping away a tear of farewell and nostalgia.

My beloved Toronto is also featured in this story, one which made the story all the more appealing to me, since it has been my home since 1999.

If you have not read the first two books, that is okay, you can probably still read this one and understand it, but I do recommend you go back and read Irish Meadows and A Worthy Heart. I mean, just the covers alone are enough to tempt you.
