Jill Lynn talks about Her Texas Cowboy

AUTHOR INTERVIEW

I’m delighted to welcome Jill Lynn to talk about her latest Love Inspired book.

Thank you so much Jill for popping in and talking about Rachel and swoony Hunter.

Q: Rachel is a character that has shown up in a different book before I believe? Can you tell us more about how she got to have her own story?

Jill: Rachel was a snarky teen in Falling for Texas. I loved writing her then, and I knew I wanted to write a redemption story for her. So often we define ourselves as who we’ve been. Rachel does that, and even though she’s changed and now helping teens, she believes people still look at her as the troubled teenager she once was. Rachel had to have her own story! It wouldn’t let go of me until I wrote it. 🙂

Q: What I took away most from this story is that much of the decisions we make are influenced by the things we believe to be the truth. Both Hunter and Rachel base their decisions on what they believe is the truth. Which of the two characters do you relate to most in this regard?

Jill: Yes…What we believe to be true impacts us so much. That’s a tough question. I think I’ll say Rachel because of how she lets the past define her. I’ve been there, done that.

Q: Since all your love inspired books are set in and around Texas, are you sandals or a cowboy boots kinda girl in real life? And in the same vein, city or country girl?

Jill: Sandals and the beach for me! Although I do own some cowboy boots…as any wanna be cowgirl would. 😉

As for city vs. country…can I say a little of both? I grew up in a small town. We explored the woods and fished and swam. We played outside until our mom called for us to come inside. (Always a sad moment!) So I love the peace and solitude of that life. But now that I live in the city, I have to say I really enjoy the quick drive to school and the grocery store being right around the corner. There’s pluses to both!

Q: What was the most difficult scene to write in the book and why? (Without giving too much away)

You gotta ask the tough questions, don’t ya? 😉

Honestly this book did not come easily to me. It was a bit of a fight. There were two tough scenes…one after a rogue kiss (little spoiler there) and another at the end. Lots of stuff is revealed, and I wanted to do justice to everyone involved. I suppose that’s a little cryptic but you’ll have to read it to find out more! 😉

Thanks for being my guest today!

Thank you for having me! It’s always a pleasure to pop by and visit.
