Between Heaven & the Real World by Steven Curtis Chapman
Genre: NON-FICTION
Steven Curtis Chapman is best known for his amazing and long-standing legacy in the Christian music scene, and now he has written his memoir, Between Heaven & The Real World.
His book, written with Ken Abraham, is Steven Curtis Chapman’s story, his journey as a singer and song write, but more profoundly as a father, husband and Jesus follower.

In his book, Between Heaven & the Real World, Steven talks about going to Africa after the apartheid era and touring there, and it was there that I first saw Steven live min concert and it was apparent then that this man had a passion for the Lord. It is interesting to read after all these years his side of the story, and about his own insecurities and where they began. This honest and vulnerable story of his struggles, his gifts, his ministry, and juggling all of these with family life, gives us a peek into his incredible journey so far. His childhood antics make you laugh and his grown up struggles make you cry (trust me, you need Kleenex for the last few chapters). If this book does not touch your heart, nothing will. Steven talks about his marriage, parenting, adoption and grief and his hope for the future.
I found such encouragement in these pages and such a beautiful example of the faith struggles where “the rubber meets the road” and how no matter what life brings, the enemy does not have to win. I don’t want to give too much away, but if you are facing struggles in your life and sometimes wonder if anything makes sense anymore, this book if for you.
