Full Circle Moment 2020
On September 28th, 2020, my husband and I celebrated 21 years since we left the country of our birth, South Africa, to start a new life in Canada. We landed in Toronto, Ontario, and began all the things immigrants have to do, like learning to drive on the other side of the road. Memories I remember taking photographs of the first snow flurry and of the squirrels in the yard, like a real noobie. Those were the days when shoveling snow was fun. Now, not so much. We got to carve our first ever pumpkin. Yes, we were like kids. Back then, everything was new and unfamiliar. I wrote a…

A Promise to Keep
Having plugged away at my writing since 2010 when I decided to take it seriously, I’m still in a bit of a daze that on Jan 21, 2020, my dream of publishing a novel is a reality! A Promise to Keep will be in readers’ hands at last. I’m at a loss for words to explain how this makes me feel. To think that my book is out there in the wild is still so surreal. The question I was asked a lot during preparation for the book-launch week was, “Why did you write this book?” That is not an easy or straightforward answer. I could just say that it…

What My TBR pile looks like now and how I am making a change in 2018
It is the start of a brand new year and one thing I have learned is that I was kidding myself. Kidding myself in thinking that I was superwoman. *Sadly I have no cape. You know, I was thinking I could do it all. *cue the epic music. After seven years of going at breakneck speed, in blogging, reviewing, freelance writing, publishing and you name it, I have decided that I really was being unrealistic. My concept of my limits was way out of wack and 2018 is the year I am going to change that! I mean, after all, my family (bless them) were getting a frazzled mom/wife and…

Announcement of upcoming book
I have always loved books which are a collection of short stories. I love the fact that you can pick them up while you are waiting for something or you only have a few minutes to read. You can read just one, mull over and savor it like a tasty morsel. There is one, in particular, that is hitting shelves this fall that I want to tell you about, because of reasons. Read More

What? What do you mean Romance isn’t for everyone?
Cupid gets a lot of attention today! It's Valentine's Day. In a conversation online recently I was shocked to read that some people, (who will remain nameless) prefer less romance in their reading. What? This I just could not understand. I mean, what? Then I got to thinking, okay so there are different personalities and not everyone is romantic and swoons, but for this gal, I need romance. Not just for the sake of romance, but I am fascinated by the interaction of two people who have a connection and are exploring said connection. So today, since it is Valentine's day, I thought I would share some of my favorite…

Christian Fiction Readers Retreat 2016
Don't wait to sign up for the Christian Fiction Readers Retreat in August. When I was invited, at first I thought it was one of those online facebook parties that you can attend in your PJ's while sitting in front of your computer. You know, all comfortable and well...alone. My first reaction when I found out that it was in fact a REAL, LIVE, EVENT, was, "I can't go, I live in Canada!" And then.... Read More
