A Change of Fortune

Let me just confess that when I am working on a big project, I make sure one of Jen’s books is waiting on my night stand at the end of the day to help me relax. I can always rely on Jen’s books to be the perfect diversion after a long day.I have been a fan of Jen Turano‘s work for a while now, but this book is the first novel she ever wrote in the Ladies of Distinction series.

Change of Fortune is the delightful story of Miss Eliza Sumnar,a governess who is not exactly what she seems. She encounters the most eligible bachelor in New York and sparks fly. Will they team up to fight a common foe or will she go back to England once she has accomplished her goal?

Twists and turns in the plot keep you engaged and I found in some of the scenes I was giggling out loud at the scenarios Miss Eliza finds herself in. The cast of characters surrounding her are just as entertaining and you get to know more of the characters in the rest of the series.
