“The message of Jesus changed the world…until the world changed the message.”

MY REVIEW

FULL TITLE: (re)union. the Good News of Jesus for Seekers, Saints and Sinners

Whether you are a seeker, saint or a sinner, this book will make you think, and not only that, it may change your life. As a longtime believer, I found (re)union to be refreshing and challenging while being completely liberating at the same time. Liberating in the sense that the pressure to earn my way into God’s good books was off! (I was reminded of this, I but understood it so much more.) All because of Grace.

Apart from Bruxy’s way of talking about a mind blowing truth, God’s love for us, his footnotes enrich the discussion. Here is a man that is conversational in his teaching, but has the background theological knowledge to back it up. ( I am totally a word geek, so when the Greek and Arabic words are included, and their meanings, I am a happy reader.)

Although the subject of faith is a personal and serious matter, Bruxy’s humour makes this discussion relatable, and his references to pop culture (Star Wars) made me smile. His humour comes through, and as he unpacks the concepts of the Good News, what came through to me the strongest was how he explained God’s love in ways I had not thought of before.

If you are on the fence about God, this book is for you. If you have warmed a church pew for decades this book if for you.  Even if you don’t think there even IS a God out there, give this book a chance. If you are not that into “church” —this book is totally for you.
